THE PROJECT:
Mercy Corps has chosen the historic Skidmore Fountain Building for its new headquarters. Previously located in six separate buildings, the organization will be consolidated into a single location and will be home to the nonprofit that employs 3,400 staff worldwide and reaches 14.4 million people in 35 different countries. The 81,595 square foot building will also house Mercy Corps Northwest, which assists low-income entrepreneurs and Mercy Corps Action Center, which promotes global literacy through lectures, exhibits and seminars, and youth workshops for students. The project is targeting a LEED-Platinum certification from the US Green Building Council.
PROJECTED COMMUNITY IMPACTS:
- Create 480 construction jobs.
